Rule #172 of living on the mountain: Understanding will be given, but it is a bit of a bumpy ride
It is Tuesday morning. A light rain falls in this hollow on the eastern side of a mountain ridge. The profile of the western mountain can just barely be seen behind thick rain clouds that are too low to move eastward. Tall trees still have no buds, but the greens underfoot are those of a multitude of tiny plants about to grow high. Dandelions and spring beauties spot the ground with yellow and white. No freeze has hit the hollow for over a week. Possums and birds are plentiful. A single deer can be heard baying from across the creek, but the herd is not visible from the cabin. As soon as the creek water goes down, the herd will move to forage in the wet meadow north of the cabin, as they have done dozens of times over the past two years. The woodpecker and the rooster are quiet today, but hundreds of tiny songbirds are calling out in trills and chirps. The breeze is cool against the face. Deep breathing is a joy, inhaling the growing fresh air. Spring is here.
In the book of Daniel, chapter 8, a vision was given to Daniel. The interpretation was revealed by “one who looked like a man”, who was called Gabriel by a voice that commanded him. Here is an interesting event of Daniel receiving information from Gabriel. Daniel fell asleep!
“Now while he was talking with me, I sank into a deep sleep with my face to the ground;”
Why do humans need to be in a dream-like state of consciousness in order to receive knowledge from God through an angel?
Even this concept is seen in Joel 2:28 and in Acts 2:17
“It will come about after this
That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and daughters will prophesy,
Your old men will dream dreams,
Your young men will see visions.”
‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,
‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
And your young men shall see visions,
And your old men shall dream dreams.’
At one point in the ministry of Jesus, He explained that if he taught the people clearly then everyone would understand the message. So He taught in parables so that only those with ears to hear would understand. Matthew 13:10-17
Did you notice that when you received salvation through proclaiming Jesus as Lord, that you began to cultivate a sort of compassion that you did not have before? – And when we desired more of the compassion, our will began to fall in line with God’s will?
BUT BUT, that means you have to be in the club before you get the secret decoder ring that tells you the passcode to the club….
Anyone can understand God’s given knowledge, after seeking the heart of God. But there in Babylon, Daniel sought the heart of God over a lifetime, and still could not receive the knowledge in an alert state!
This I know for sure: God speaks through His word, through parables, and dreams and visions and prophecies, and only those who love God will surely be able to gain understanding.
I’ve heard Christians on youtube, ones that I admire, using the phrase, “God gave me a download last night…”
Oh, I forgive them, but I cannot even begin to say how uncomfortable that phrase makes me.
Tinfoil hat warning starts here.
When I was communicating with the ET race… Let me interrupt myself to say, I’ve repented. Those folks are demonic, whether or not they are demons, I cannot say, but their behavior was demonic.
When I was communicating with them, they would say, “We will send you a download tonight”. Before falling asleep, I would get a vibrating buzzing in my left ear. It was as if I was hearing an entire encyclopedia of spoken information sped up and condensed into 40 seconds.
Now, when I hear Christians whom I admire and they say, “The Lord downloaded this into my spirit”, it makes me uncomfortable.
Tin foil hat warning ends here.
I can easily forgive others for calling God’s messages a “download”, but I wish for nobody to be confused as I once was.
God does give dreams, prophecies and visions. Understanding will come to the believer, but it is a bit of a bumpy ride.
